Class Description:​ 

​

This class is geared towards older adults who would like to benefit from the gifts of yoga. The physical benefits from gentle movements and postures are recognized, but yoga offers other benefits as well: through breathing and meditative techniques that can soothe the mind and in turn, offer a broader sense of well-being.

​

The class will offer modifications to meet the needs of students, providing a strong, challenging but equally relaxed and meditative yoga practice.

​

Bring a yoga mat, some comfy clothes, and a sense of curiosity! Additional props such as chairs, blocks, straps, and foam mats will be available at the Field house.

Catherine is a Yoga Alliance certified instructor and Old Ottawa East resident. Yoga has been a source of comfort and challenge for her over the past 2 decades, through various stages of her adult life and parenthood. Yoga for Seniors holds a special place in her heart, stemming from family members' battles with cancer (and subsequent remission) where yoga emerged as a powerful practice to strengthen the body, still the mind and foster greater mind-body-spirit connection.

Honouring the wisdom and teachings of yoga tradition, Catherine is excited to adapt to the needs of her students...as we are all on the journey of aging.​

Dates: January 11th - March 29th, 2025 (12 weeks)

Day/Time: Saturdays, 9:30am to 10:30am

Location: Brantwood Park Fieldhouse (39 Onslow Crescent)

Pricing: $132.00 (+ GST) - 12 Classes (Prorated for late registrations)
